Twin Sun, aka Jamie Willcox & Pete Wheeler, formed in November 2015. Early live sets saw them supporting Maribou State, Bondax and The Blockheads before taking to festival stages with a full band (including Jennifer Stearnes from Saltwater Sun on vocals and Alex Woodward from Black Honey on drums) at Glastonbury, Penn Fest, Are You Listening? and Readipop Festival.
Early singles “Lilac Light”, “Real Life” and “Jump Back” received support from Huw Stephens (Radio 1), John Kennedy (X-Posure, Radio X), Amazing Radio (A-Playlist) and BBC Introducing in Berkshire.
The duo returned in May 2020 with their first new material in over two years, a double A-Side of “French Sunset” and “The Light” set for release. Debuted during their DJ set for Are You Listening? Insta Sessions (on the day the 2020 festival was meant to take place) the new tracks have gone on to receive radio plays from John Kennedy (Radio X) and Richard Latto (BBC Local Radio).
Alongside writing original material, the duo create edits and remixes especially for DJ sets. Supporters of their edits include BBC Radio 6 Music approved club night Fleetmac Wood, who invited Twin Sun to play Fabric & Printworks with them in 2019 plus DJ Greg Wilson, who included them in his Top 10 edits of 2016. This month (July 2020), Twin Sun are making many of the edits they have completed during lockdown available for free at soundcloud.com/twinsunmusic. Don’t miss their special livestream sets exclusively for Reading Fringe 2020 on Saturday 18th July!
