In 1796, the Theatre Royal in Drury Lane staged a ‘lost’ work of Shakespeare: a play so bad that it was instantly denounced as a forgery, The fraudster was William Ireland, whom we meet on the run from the mob. A darkly witty real-life story brought to life by one actor playing six characters.

This performance is captioned.
