Today, host Sarah Smith, winner of last year’s BBC Berkshire War of the Words, will be joined by:
Robert Garnham is a comedy performance poet. He has performed at festivals and fringes and comedy nights. A joke from one of his shows was acclaimed as one of the funniest at the Edinburgh fringe. He has made some TV adverts for a certain bank.
Spout – an autobiographical poetry show about tea – is available throughout the Festival.
Sam Chittenden (Different Theatre)
Sam Chittenden writes and directs lyrical, female-driven plays. In 2019 she won New Writing South’s Best New Play for ‘Clean’, ‘Sary’ was nominated for an Infallibles Award for Theatrical Excellence and her one-woman take on Kafka’s ‘Metamorphosis’ played at SoHo Playhouse in New York.

Dan Webber is an LGBTQ+ poet, promoter and events coordinator based in Derby. He has appeared at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, The RSC, YNOT Festival and Reading Fringe Festival. In 2016 he was named BBC Local Poet for Derby for National Poetry Day and performed as part of the 25th Birthday celebration for Leicester Comedy Festival.

About the host
Sarah Smith is a poet and spoken word artist. In 2019 she was a National Poetry Slam Finalist at the Royal Albert Hall, performed a spoken word show Tracks to a sold-out audience, launched her debut pamphlet Crackers, and was crowned champion of BBC Berkshire War of the Words at last year’s Reading Fringe. 2020 has been spent mostly on the sofa.
