★★★★ “There is so much creativity present… A perfect parody of the tiered housing situation we face.” Everything Theatre
★★★★ “Music, poetry and storytelling give powerful voice to a generation’s fears about London’s housing crisis” Morning Star
★★★★ “High Rise Estate of Mind is an energetic, reflective, daring, compelling and convicting production” Get The Chance
A stunning new show exposing young people’s fears about where they will live. Will they ever be able to afford to live somewhere clean and safe? Is it a fair race, or is the system fundamentally fucked and a home is just a modern-day pipe dream?
High Rise Estate of Mind tells difficult-to-swallow truths through a dystopian lens using grime, beatboxing, hip hop, looping and MCing. A fast-paced, urban story about class and housing, frustrations, inequalities and the pointlessness of it all.
Director: Conrad Murray
Producers: Beats & Elements, Camden People’s Theatre and GL4
Lighting designer: Simeon Miller
