Schools poster competition

This year our schools poster competition had an international flavour… celebrating a cultural exchange between Reading and its twin towns.

Local children were invited to embrace the arts and culture of our Twin Towns of Düsseldorf in Germany, San Francisco Libre in Nicaragua, Speightstown in Barbados, and Clonmel in Ireland. This is an extra special year, as we invited all of our Twin Towns to join in the fun, providing even more opportunities for us all to connect!

For more information on our Twin Towns see https://www.getreading.co.uk/news/local-news/you-need-know-readings-twin-6857631.

Thanks to all of the children who participated in this year’s competition. The winners have been selected! The standards were very high, so we have awarded two first and two second places, plus one overall winner. The overall winner will be exhibited alongside an entry from a school in San Francisco Libre. We were very grateful to receive anything from them as there has been much political unrest which has prevented our continued communication.

The two posters will be displayed at the Global Cafe for a limited time, so do try and visit if you can. You can view all of the entrants in a special online gallery here.

The winners are as follows

New Christ Church Primary
1st Jackson
2nd Igor

Emmer Green Primary
1st Brooke
2nd Baker

Overall Winner
Kartik
New Christ Church Primary

Thanks to all involved, including the teaching staff!

See you next year!
