Reading Fringe Festival is a 10-day annual festival, which has welcomed national and international artists from a wide range of genres to indoor and outdoor venues across the town since 2013. We have programmed a wide variety of shows including shadow puppetry, yoga, clog workshops, conversations with refugees, an orchestra in a train station and a whale in a shopping centre.
In early 2020 when Covid hit, and lockdown loomed, in collaboration with our artists we took the decision to go digital. Read more about our 2020 digital festival here.
After breaking records and going global in its last two years, Reading Fringe Festival will be taking a pause in 2021 as it plans for its tenth anniversary and beyond. This year the Fringe team has decided that rather than run its usual line-up of some 100 events covering cabaret, children’s, comedy, dance, drama, music, spoken word and more, they will instead take time out to plan its future and explore options that will allow the festival to come back better than ever in 2022. Read more about the decision here.
We look forward to seeing you again in 2022 – and remember to keep an eye on our website and social media channels for ongoing news, updates and surprise content!
